RG 87-155 GLO Survey Maps, 1816-1860

A collection of survey maps of Lowell Township in Kent County, Michigan. The first survey map in this collection details all of Lowell Township and was drawn in December 1830. The second map details islands in the portion of the Grand River that runs through Lowell Township; this survey was completed in 1855. The third map in this collection is of islands in the portion of the Flat River that runs through Sections 2 and 11 of Lowell Township. That survey was completed in 1856.

A collection of survey maps of Sunfield Township in Eaton County, Michigan. The first survey map in this collection details all of Sunfield Township; the land was measured in January 1827 and completed in May of the same year. The second map details an island in a lake located in Sections 8, 17, 18, and 19 of Sunfield Township in Eaton County, Michigan. The survey was completed in 1856.

A collection of survey maps of Trowbridge Township in Allegan County, Michigan. The first map is of the whole of Trowbridge Township. The southern boundary was measured in 1827, the northern, eastern, and western boundaries in late 1830 and early 1831, and the subdivisions in 1831. The second map details islands in the portion of the Kalamazoo River that runs through sections 3 and 10 of Trowbridge Township in Allegan County, Michigan. This land was measured in 1850.

The first image is of Spring Lake Township, the northern section of Grand Haven Township, and the City of Grand Haven. The City of Grand Haven is located in sections 20 and 21 and parts of 27, 28, 29, and 34. Grand Haven Township is located in section 26 and parts of sections 27, 32, 33, and 35. This location was measured in several pieces: the southern boundary in late 1830 or early 1831, the subdivisions in both 1832 and 1837, and the northern, eastern, and western boundaries in 1837. The second image is the back of the map, detailing meander measurements.
