RG 87-155 GLO Survey Maps, 1816-1860

A collection of survey maps of Brooks Township in Newaygo County, Michigan. The first map is of all of Brooks Township; the township lines were measured in 1837 while the subdivision lines were measured in 1838. The second image is of the back of a map of Brooks Township, detailing extra meander measurements. The second map details islands in the Muskegon River that runs through Sections 13, 22, and 27 of Brooks Township. The islands were surveyed in 1856. Note: The City of Newaygo is located in parts of Sections 18, 19 and 30.

The second map details islands in the portion of the Kalamazoo River that runs through Comstock Township; this survey was completed in 1850.

The second map is a resurvey of Section 33 of Nottawa Township. The survey was completed in June 1982. The third map is a dependent resurvey of the land in Section 18 of Nottawa Township. The survey was completed between August and September 2009.
