This collection contains photographs from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Camera Point project dated from 1926-1990. The project captures specific locations of state forests that were damaged during the state's lumber boom. Photographs of the same areas were capture decades later to view how damaged forests regenerated and repaired themselves. In total, 49 sites across 12 counties in northwest lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula were documented.
