This collection contains digital collections that are not associated with a single Archives of Michigan record group or manuscript collection. The collection includes Civil War battle flags, Civil War photographs and Civil War volunteer registries.

The Archives of Michigan General Photograph Collection consists of approximately 350,000 images, mostly black and white prints, documenting Michigan's history. The collection is organized by subject and the images in the Town and City Scenes portion have been digitized and are available online.

This record series contains films, videotapes, digital videos and photos, filmstrips, audiotapes and slides. They may be created by agencies to document promotional activities, training, agency accomplishments, special events, initiatives, personnel and other activities of general interest.  

This collection contains two journals kept by keepers at the Tawas Point Lighthouse. Entries vary in content depending on the lighthouse keeper, but may cover weather, ships in the vicinity, and daily tasks completed.

These records document the history of Michigan and are preserved in microfilm format. Government records with historical value are transferred to the Archives of Michigan for permanent preservation and private papers with historical value may be donated to the Archives of Michigan for permanent preservation

Senate Bill 81: A Bill to admit the State of Michigan into the Union on equal footing with the original states.

Letter from Andrew Jackson to Michigan Senate and House of Representatives dated December 9, 1835. In this letter, he acknowledges the new State Constitution and lays out the next steps for admitting Michigan into the United States.

This collection contains records related to Michigan becoming a state, including a letter from Andrew Jackson acknowledging the 1835 Constitution and the bill admitting Michigan to the union. The records were transferred from the National Archives in 1981.
