The large intersection is Monument Square, with the Civil War monument in the center. The three towers, from foreground back are: Heritage Tower, Battle Creek Tower (also known as Central National Tower) and the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center, formerla the Battle Creek Sanitarium.

Black and white photograph from circa 1940-1947 taken from the present day intersection of W Michigan Avenue (formerly Main Street) and Capital Avenue NE in Battle Creek, Michigan. This photograph shows the old storefront of the Grand Leader department store prior to its renovations in 1947-1958. On the left can be seen the lower floors of the Heritage Tower, and in the background the Battle Creek Tower, also known as the Central National Tower. Both towers were built in 1931.
