Letter from Edwin A. Bush to friends at home dated October 13. 1862. In the letter, the 17th Michigan Regiment was ordered to march to Fredericksburg, Virginia to protect the city from Confederate cavalry. He also describes how he is getting along with his new life as a soldier.

Two seperate letters from Peter Jones and Henry Haney to Mrs. Mahan. Peter Jones wrotes to Mrs. Mahan on January 6, 1865, while Henry Haney wrote on December 19, 1864. Both individuals are wounded and stationed at different hospitals, but request supplies to be sent to them by Mrs. Mahan.

Letter from General Ulysses S. Grant to Major General Halleck dated January 8, 1864. In the letter he discusses General Foster's need for supplies (particularly clothing) and orders to attack General Longstreet. The date on the letter reads 1863, but it was more likely the letter was written in 1864.

Lyon, May 4, 1862; list of stores lost at Seven Days Battle, Oct. 1, 1862; copy of portion of orders for Capt. Lyon to report for duty at St. Louis, Mo.; and a railroad pass dated July 5, 1864.
