Biography or Historical Note: Responsibility for collecting and maintaining birth, marriage, and death records was transferred to the State Commissioner of Health in 1921. Responsibility for collecting and maintaining divorce records was transferred in 1923.

System of arrangement: Records are arranged by type, then by date of transfer to the Archives of Michigan. This collection contains death records. Individual files can be found at the record group level.
