Scope and Content:
This is volume forty-five of a forty-six set. It follows regiments from other states that contained a large number of men from Michigan. These regiments include Merrill Horse, Twenty-third Illinois Infantry, Thirty-seventh Illinois Infantry, Forty-fourth Illinois Infantry, Company C, Seventieth New York Infantry, Company K, First New York Cavalry, Forty-seventh Ohio Infantry, First Michigan Lancers, Chandler Horse Guard, Provost Guard, Howland's Engineers, Stanton Guards, Hancock's First Army Veteran Corps, Second Regiment Veteran Reserve Corps, and Chadwick's Engineers. The series is a compilation of the military history of each soldier of the Civil War who was a resident of the State of Michigan at the time of enlistment.
