Wood, Abram R., Sturgis. Entered service in company C., Fourth Infantry, at organization, as Captain June 20, 1861, age 34. Commissioned to date May 16, 1861. Mustered June 20, 1861. Killed while on picket at Yorktown, Va., April 18, 1862. French, Ebenezer, St. Joseph County. Entered service in company C., Fourth Infantry at organization as Second Lieutenant, June 20, 1861, at Adrian for 3 years, age 26. Commissioned to date May 16, 1861. Mustered June June 20, 1861. Commissioned First Lieutenant Sept. 1, 1861. Commissioned Captain, company A., Sept. 1, 1862. Wounded in action at Fredericksburg, Va., Dec. 13, 1862. Relieved from command Dec. 20, 1862, in consequence of wounds. Returned to regiment March 1, 1863. Wounded in action at Gettysburg, Pa., July 2, 1863. Discharged on account of disability May 9, 1864. Commanding Garrison at Charlestown, Tenn., June, 1865. Mustered out at Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 16, 1865.
