The Michigan Exposition and Fairgrounds Authority was created to manage the state fairgrounds, run an annual state fair, grant leases for portions of the state fairgrounds and enter into cooperative agreements as needed to to carry out its duties.
The Bureau of Facilities included the Design Division, Construction Division, Management Division and an administrative office. The Design Division administered architectural and engineering services for state facilities; the Construction Division administered construction of state facilities; the Management Division handles services such as custodial, maintenance, parking, security, leasing and acquisition and disposal of property.
