From the junction of Real Water Rd. and Wilderness Rd. near the section corner common to Sec 20, 21, 28 and 29, proceed about 1.2 miles west northwest to the intersection of Wilderness Rd. and a north-south firelane on the section line common to Sec 19 and 20. The firelane to the north is gated. Proceed 900 ft north on the fire lane to the north slope of a steep hill at the east edge of a large open depression. The Camera Point is loacted about half way up the hill, on the west side of the fire lane. View: N70W
Cheboygan
This Camera Point is located on a poor road, about 660 ft west of the N-S fire lane on the section line common to Sec 29 and 30. From the intersection of Wilderness Rd. and the north-south fire lane (where Camera Point 17a and Camera Point 18a are found), proceed due south on the north-south fire lane for 1.0 miles, then proceed 660 ft west. See the directions for Camera Point 17a and Camera Point 18a. There are a number of poor logging roads and ORV trails near the Camera Point 21a, however, this Camera Point is best located by GPS. The Camera Point is on top of a 5 ft by 15 ft mound that is 2.5 ft tall. View N40W

From the 5-way intersection of trail roads in the NW 1/4 of Sec 7 (Camera Point 09a), proceed 0.5 mile south southeast on Marl Creek Rd. to the junction of Marl Creek Rd. and a trail heading southwest. Proceed uphill 0.25 miles southwest on the trail to the junction of the southwest trail and a motorcross trail heading southeast. This junction is just below the top of a ridge. Proceed 260 ft southeast on the motorcross trail, then walk about 125 ft east along the ridge. The Camera Point is located just below the top of the ridge, on the north slope. From Camera Point 17a, proceed 0.4 miles north on the north-south fire lane to the point where the well-traveled road veers off to the northeast. From that point proceed N68W for 0.2 miles (1056 ft). The old trails are so overgrown that it is best to proceed by compass bearing and a little bushwhacking. The Camera Point is located on the east side of a pothole. View: S75W

From the junction of old US 27 (Co. Rd. 130) and Browns Rd. at the section corner common to Sec 26, 27, 34 and 35, proceed 0.25 mile north to just over the brow of the hill. The Camera Point is on the east shoulder of old US 27. This is also 0.1 mile south of the junction of old US 27 and Hatton Rd. View: N70E

From the junction of old US 27 and Browns Rd. at the section corner common to Sec 26, 27, 34 and 35, proceed 0.2 mile south to the Camera Point on the west shoulder of old US 27. The Camera Point is just south of a large white pine on the west side of the road. It is also 1.8 miles north of the intersection of old US 27 and Dover Rd. The view is along old US 27. View: N30E

From intersection of Chase Bridge Rd. and Pioneer Rd. at the section corner common to Sec 27, 28, 33, and 34, proceed 20 ft south on Chase Bridge Rd. to a trail road angling southwest. Proceed 0.2 mile southwest on the trail road to a small (less than 10 m) opening. The Camera Point is on the southeast side of the trail road, near the southeast edge of the opening. Camera Point is 3 ft NE of a jack pine. View: N45E.

From the junction of Stephan Bridge Rd. and 4 Mile Rd., proceed approximately 500 ft north to a power line access trail. Proceed 0.1 mile east on the power line access trail, then walk 40 ft north to the Camera Point. View: N30E

From the section corner common to Sec 27, 28, 33 and 34, proceed 0.75 mile south to a trail road heading southwest. Proceed 0.7 mile on the southwesterly trail to a trail bearing north. Rd. 612 to the unmarked scetion corner common to Sec 34, 35, 2, and 3. The proceed 330 ft west to the Camera Point on the south shoulder of Co. Rd. 612. From the intersection of north-south and east-west trail roads at the section corner common of Sec 4, 5, 8, and 9 (<100 yards west of Co. Rd. 423 also called Mouth of Two Hearted Rd.), proceed 825 ft west along the section line common to Sec 5 and 8. Then walk 297 ft south to the Camera Point, which is located on the east side of a low ridge. View: N45E

From the intersection of Sucker River Rd. (Co. Rd. 410) and Co. Rd. 375 at the section line common to Sec 21 and 22, proceed 0.3 mile south on Co. Rd. 375 to the 1/4 corner common to Sec 21 and 22. At this point a fire lane continues due south along the section line, but Co. Rd. 375 veers slightly southeast. Follow Co. Rd. 375 0.1 mile south southeast to a topped jack pine on the west side of the trail. This point is also 0.4 mile north of an east-west fire lane. Then walk 100 ft east from the trail to the Camera Point. The Camera Point is on a slight rise. View: N40E

Proceed to the Holland Lake State Forest Campground and park at the western most camp sites. The original Camera Point was located at the top of a fire tower and the top of the rise just west of Holland Lake. The fire tower has been removed, but the concrete/steel base are still visible. The Camera Point was moved in 1971 to a small plateau halfway between the old tower site and the lake. View: N68E

The Camera Point is located on the northeast side of US 2, 17.6 miles from the toll gate at Mackinac Bridge. This point is also 0.48 mile southeast of the junction of US 2 and Brevort Lake Rd. (USFS 3108). The Camera Point is 3 ft NE of and off the shoulder of the road. View: due E

From the junction of M 33 and Tomahawk Lake Rd., proceed 1 mile northeast on Tomahawk Lake Rd. to a trail road th goes to the west unit of Tomahawk Creek Flooding campground. Proceed 0.35 mile southeast on the trail road to the intersection of the trail road and a trail heading east. In 2012, the east-west trail was no longer visible and completely covered with warm-season grasses. This trail is blocked by posts east of the trail road, and the Camera Point is located 20 ft west of the point where the east-west trail is blocked. View: due W
Presque Isle
The Camera Point is located on a trail road on the townline common to T21N, R04W, Sec 12 and T21N, R03W, Sec 7. From the point where the trail road crosses Wolf Creek in the SW 1/4 SW 1/4 Sec 6, T21N, R03W, proceed 0.3 mile south to the Camera Point. The Camera Point was marked by a small red oak and a red pine very near the east side of the road. The red pine was blazed about 3 ft above the ground. Both of those trees are still there, but there are no other markers for this Camera Point. The Camera Point is located in the center of the trail road. The view is along the trail road. View: due S
Roscommon
See directions to Camera Point 01c in Roscommon County. From Camera Point 01c, proceed 0.5 mile west to the 1/4 corner common to Sec 13 and 24. The 1/4 corner is marked by a 4-inch iron pipe that extends 1 ft above ground level. There is a squared wood post set in the iron pipe. From the 1/4 corner marker, proceed 198 ft northwest to the Camera Point. The Camera Point is 9 ft northwest of an oak tree that is 36 ft from the center of the road. View: N30W
Roscommon
From the junction of Mead Rd. and Co. Rd. 3000 on the section line common to Sec 20 and 21, walk about 0.5 mile south on an old right-of-way to the section corner common to Sec 20, 21, 28 and 29. The old right-of-way (in 2012 it looked like a footpath) goes through lowland hardwoods and into a marsh. Bring along hip boots. The Camera Point is about 396 ft north of the section corner. The Camera Point is located in the middle of the raised roadway between two ditches. View: N60W

From Camera Point 13b, proceed 594 ft south along the old right-of-way to Camera Point. The Camera Point is also 198 ft south of the section corner common to Sec 20, 21, 28 and 29. The Camera Point is located just off the northeast side of Fox River Rd. on a mound 3 ft above the level of the road, and about 15 ft north of the abandoned trail. This trail is now barely discernable. It is located 0.1 mil southeast of the junction of Fox River Rd. and Taylor Dam Rd. Camera Point 06a and 06b overlap to form a panaramic view. View from N60W.
