Black and white copy print of a sketch of the Detroit Arsenal at Dearborn in 1895. In the 1830s, the Detroit Arsenal was moved from within the city of Detroit to a location west of the city in Dearborn. The arsenal's purpose was to serve as a supply depot for the (U.S.) army, and to store and maintain arms and ammunition. When the arsenal was deemed no longer of use to the U. S. Army, the buildings were auctioned off. The only building still remaining in its original location is the commandant's quarters building, which is now the Dearborn Historical Museum.

Black and white photograph, taken from the book "Michigan" by Fuller, of Thomas A. Edison (1847-1931) inscribing his name in the cornerstone of The Edison Institute (renamed The Henry Ford Museum after Ford's death) in Dearborn, Michigan. Henry Ford (1863-1947) looks on to the left of Edison. The inscription occurred on September 27, 1928, and the dedication a year later.

Black and white postcard depicting a photograph of the Commandant's Quarters, one of eleven buildings that made up the Detroit Arsenal in Dearborn, Michigan. In the 1830s, the Detroit Arsenal was moved from within the city of Detroit to a location west of the city in Dearborn. The Commandant's Quarters building was built in 1833, and when the arsenal was deemed no longer of use to the U. S. Army, it (along with the ten other buildings) was auctioned off. Between 1877 and 1949 the building was used as a library, American Legion hall, a town hall, police station, school, and a newspaper office. It is now the home of the Dearborn Historical Museum.

Color postcard from 1937 showing an aerial view of The Edison Institute and Museum (now known as the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village) in Dearborn, near Detroit, Michigan. The institute clock tower is a replica of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded by Henry Ford, the institute was based on his collection of items, from vehicles to buildings to archival material, of historical significance.
