The purpose of this report is to summarize the 1991 elk hunt. It was held December 10-17 with a total issue of 155 licenses. A 95% success rate was achieved by the 155 hunters in the December hunt with the harvest of 148 elk. All 57 Hunter Choice licenses were filled with bulls. Of the 98 antlerless only licenses available, hunters took 13 calves and 78 cows. The pace of the 1991 hunt was somewhat slower than previous December hunts. By the end of the third day, 67% of the hunters were successful. This compares to a 77% average for 6 previous years.
