Beginning in 2009, crossbows were allowed for use in Michiganâs archery deer hunting season in an attempt to expand hunting opportunities, retain existing hunters, and recruit new hunters. This report is the result of an evaluation done to assess whether these objectives had been met and to determine crossbow huntersâ opinions about the use of crossbows.
