Biography or Historical Note: Originally laid off as Unwattin County in 1840, Osceola County was later officially organized in 1869. The county coordinates are Range 7 West through 10 West (7W-10W) and Township 17 North through 20 North (17N-20N). Adjacent counties include Missaukee (northeast), Clare (east), Isabella (southeast), Mecosta (south), Newaygo (southwest), Lake (west), and Wexford (northwest).

Scope and Content: The county treasurer is the custodian of all county money and is responsible for investing funds and maintaining an adequate cash flow. The county treasurer also settles with township and city treasurers for taxes collected for the county and state, collects delinquent property taxes, pays county debts, certifies warranty deeds, and sells dog licenses.
