Biography or Historical Note: Baker, Luther Byron. Mustered in First Lieutenant/Quartermaster of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Regiment District of Columbia Cavalry. Mustered out of service as a Second Lieutenant/Regimental Quartermaster, 2nd Brigade, 1st Regiment District of Columbia Cavalry. Entered the Secret Service in 1865 under the command of his cousin, General Lafayette C. Baker, chief of the United States Secreet Service.
