Luce

From the junction of Adams Trail (Co. Rd. 637) and H 58, proceed 1.25 miles northeast to the junction of Adams Trail and a trail heading east. This junction (and the Camera Point) is 165 ft S50E of the section corner common to Sec 20, 21, 28 and 29. The Camera Point is in the center of the Adams Trail at this junction. The junction is also 0.25 mile northeast of the junction of Adams Trail and a trail to Nugent Lake. View: N27W 

Alger

From Shingleton, proceed 1-mile west on M-28 to Co. Rd. 653 (Percy Rd.), then continue 0.8 mile northwest on M-28 to a trail road to the north. Follow this trail road 0.4 mile (bear left at fork in the trail near M-28). The walk 231 ft east to the Camera Point. View: due E.

Alger

Proceed to the Holland Lake State Forest Campground and park at the western most camp sites. The original Camera Point was located at the top of a fire tower and the top of the rise just west of Holland Lake. The fire tower has been removed, but the concrete/steel base are still visible. The Camera Point was moved in 1971 to a small plateau halfway between the old tower site and the lake. View: N68E

The Camera Point is located 145 ft southwest of Camera Point 13a, about 2/3 of the way to the top of the same hill. See directions for Camera Point 13a. Camera Point is marked by a blazed large red pine. The Camera Point is 6 ft north of the blazed red pine. View: S45E

Cheboygan

From the intersection of Springvale Rd. and CCC Rd. near the 1/4 corner common to Sec 2 and 11, proceed 132 ft south on CCC Rd. to an old railroad grade. Then proceed 0.25 mile west along the old grade to the Camera Point, which is near a large hemlock on the north side of the grade. The Camera Point is located on the south side of the grade. The view is along the railroad grade. View: N35E 

Charlevoix

From the intersection of Peet Rd. and Hunters Rd. in Sec 9, proceed 0.7 mile west on Peet Rd. to a north-south fire lane at the 1/4 corner common to Sec 8 and 9. Then walk 198 ft south on the fire lane, which runs along the section line common to Sec 8 and 9. The Camera Point is in the center of the fire lane. The view is along the fire lane. View: due N

Cheboygan

From the junction of Real Water Rd. and Wilderness Rd. near the section corner common to Sec 20, 21, 28 and 29, proceed about 1.2 miles west northwest to the intersection of Wilderness Rd. and a north-south firelane on the section line common to Sec 19 and 20. The firelane to the north is gated. Proceed 900 ft north on the fire lane to the north slope of a steep hill at the east edge of a large open depression. The Camera Point is loacted about half way up the hill, on the west side of the fire lane. View: N70W

Cheboygan

From Camera Point 9a (the 5-way intersection in Sec 7), proceed 1.1 miles southeast on Marl Creek Rd. to an abandoned N-S fire lane on the section line common to Sec 7 and 8. The fire lane is difficult to distinguish due to growth of woody vegetation. It is located 198 ft 3 chains northeast of the second of 2 ORV trails that head southeast from Marl Creek Rd. along the abandoned fire lane. Camera Point is 9 ft from center of Rd. Clump of maple is 10 ft east of Camera Point. Across street is a blazed aspen 30 ft west of Camera Point. View: due S

Cheboygan

From the junction of Mead Rd. and Co. Rd. 3000 on the section line common to Sec 20 and 21, walk about 0.5 mile south on an old right-of-way to the section corner common to Sec 20, 21, 28 and 29. The old right-of-way (in 2012 it looked like a footpath) goes through lowland hardwoods and into a marsh. Bring along hip boots. The Camera Point is about 396 ft north of the section corner. The Camera Point is located in the middle of the raised roadway between two ditches. View: N60W

Roscommon

Proceed to the 5-way intersection of Peet Rd., Marl Creek Rd. and 2 trail roads, near the center of NW 1/4 of Sec 7. The Camera Point is located in the middle of the intersection. The view is along Peet Rd. View: due E

Cheboygan

From the intersection of north-south and east-west trail roads at the section corner common of Sec 4, 5, 8, and 9 (<100 yards west of Co. Rd. 423 also called Mouth of Two Hearted Rd.), proceed 825 ft west along the section line common to Sec 5 and 8. Then walk 297 ft south to the Camera Point, which is located on the east side of a low ridge. View: N45E 

Luce

This Camera Point is located 165 ft west of Camera Point 12a and 20 ft north of the center line of Peet Rd. See directions for Camera Point 12a. The view is along Peet Rd. View: due W 

Cheboygan

From the junction of Wise Lake Rd. and a trail bearing northeast (junction is in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 Sec 22), proceed 0.3 mile southeast along Wise Lake Road. The Camera Point is 22 ft east of Wise Lake Rd. There is an abandoned trail heading west from Wise Lake Rd. less than 50 ft from the Camera Point. The Camera Point was previously described as a large pine stump scribed "Camera Point 24", and was still present in 2012, but rotting away to the point that only 1/3 remains. The Camera Point is 15 ft N35E from the scribed stump. View: N60E

Alger

From the junction of Hanson Rd. and Thumb Lake Rd. (C 48) near the 1/4 corner common to Sec 10 and 11, proceed 0.15 mile south on Hanson Rd. to the junction of Hanson Rd. and a trail heading southeast. The Camera Point is 150 ft northeast of the intersection of Hanson Rd. and the southeast bearing trail. Camera Point is on a small mound that is 1.5 ft tall and 6 ft in diameter. View N45W

Charlevoix

From the junction of old US 27 and Browns Rd. at the section corner common to Sec 26, 27, 34 and 35, proceed 0.2 mile south to the Camera Point on the west shoulder of old US 27. The Camera Point is just south of a large white pine on the west side of the road. It is also 1.8 miles north of the intersection of old US 27 and Dover Rd. The view is along old US 27. View: N30E

Clare

From the junction of Adams Trail (Co. Rd. 637) and a trail heading south to Ewalt Lake (this southerly trail runs along the section line common to Sec 15 and 16), proceed 0.15 mile east on Adams Trail. The Camera Point is 33 ft north of Adam Trail. View: due N

Alger

From Camera Point 13b, proceed 594 ft south along the old right-of-way to the Camera Point. The Camera Point is also 198 ft south of the section corner common to Sec 20, 21, 28 and 29. Cheboygan

From the junction of Springvale Rd. and Howard Rd., proceed 0.8 mile east on Springvale Rd. to a north-south trail road on the section line common to Sec 15 and 16. Take the trail road 0.5 mile south to the intersection with an east-west trail road. Proceed 1.6 - 1.7 miles east and south on the east-west trail road to a wash area just south of a pipeline. The Camera Point is located on a 5-ft bank at the south end of the wash, 15 ft from the road. The view is along the trail road. View: N10W 

Charlevoix

From the junction of Slashing Rd. and Chandler Rd., proceed 1 mile south on Slashing Rd. to a trail angling west. Take the trail 0.45 mile west to the junction of a trail heading north northwest. Proceed 396 ft north northwest on this trail to an old fire lane; a hole and mound has been bulldozed on the west side of the trail at the point where the trail intersects the old fire lane. The proceed 132 ft west on the old fire lane to the Camera Point. View is east, along old fire lane. View: due E 

Charlevoix

The Camera Point is located on a trail road on the townline common to T21N, R04W, Sec 12 and T21N, R03W, Sec 7. From the point where the trail road crosses Wolf Creek in the SW 1/4 SW 1/4 Sec 6, T21N, R03W, proceed 0.3 mile south to the Camera Point. The Camera Point was marked by a small red oak and a red pine very near the east side of the road. The red pine was blazed about 3 ft above the ground. Both of those trees are still there, but there are no other markers for this Camera Point. The Camera Point is located in the center of the trail road. The view is along the trail road. View: due S 

Roscommon

From the junction of Hanson Rd. and Thumb Lake Rd. (C 48) near the 1/4 corner common to Sec 10 and 11, proceed 0.5 miles west on Thumb Lake Rd. to a trail bearing south. Proceed 627 ft south on this trail (across private land) to an old grade, then walk 231 ft east along the old grade to the Camera Point. There are several parallel east-west grades that are about 60 ft apart and easily confused. The view is along the old grade. View: due W 

Charlevoix

From the intersection of Sucker River Rd. (Co. Rd. 410) and Co. Rd. 375 at the section line common to Sec 21 and 22, proceed 0.3 mile south on Co. Rd. 375 to the 1/4 corner common to Sec 21 and 22. At this point a fire lane continues due south along the section line, but Co. Rd. 375 veers slightly southeast. Follow Co. Rd. 375 0.1 mile south southeast to a topped jack pine on the west side of the trail. This point is also 0.4 mile north of an east-west fire lane. Then walk 100 ft east from the trail to the Camera Point. The Camera Point is on a slight rise. View: N40E 

Luce

From the junction of M 28 and Fox River Rd. in Seney, proceed 8.1 miles northwest on Fox River Rd. to an abandoned northeasterly trail. The Camera Point is located just off the northeast side of Fox River Rd., on a mound 3 ft above the level of the road, and about 15 ft north of the abandoned trail. The trail is now barely discernable. It is loacted 0.1 mile southeast of the junction of Fox River Rd. and Taylor Dam Rd. Camera Point 06a and 06b overlap to form a panaramic view. View from N15W.

Schoolcraft

From the junction of Howard Rd. and Chandler Rd., proceed 2.4 miles north on Howard Rd. The Camera Point is 231 ft south of a creek and private driveway (Bachandler Camp Rd.) heading east. The Camera Point is located on the west side of Howard Rd. View: S25E 

Charlevoix

The Camera Point is located on the northeast side of US 2, 17.6 miles from the toll gate at Mackinac Bridge. This point is also 0.48 mile southeast of the junction of US 2 and Brevort Lake Rd. (USFS 3108). The Camera Point is 3 ft NE of and off the shoulder of the road. View: due E 

Mackinac

Previous directions indicated that this Camera Point is located 660 ft south and 660 ft west of the 1/4 corner common to Sec 9 and 16. From Camera Point 15a, proceed 198 ft south on the N-S trail, then 18 ft west to the Camera Point. See directions for Camera Point 15a. View: due N.

Cheboygan

12a

From the intersection of Peet Rd. and Hunters Rd. in Sec 9, proceed 0.9 mile west on Peet Rd. The Camera Point is located 15 ft north of the center line of Peet Rd., 132 ft west of the brow of a hill. This Camera Point is located 0.2 mile west of the intersection of Peet Rd. and a N-S fore lane that marks the section line common to Sec 8 and 9 (Camera Point 23a is located on this fire lane). Cheboygan

From Camera Point 17a, proceed 0.4 miles north on the north-south fire lane to the point where the well-traveled road veers off to the northeast. From that point proceed N68W for 0.2 miles (1056 ft). The old trails are so overgrown that it is best to proceed by compass bearing and a little bushwhacking. The Camera Point is located on the east side of a pothole. View: S75W 

Cheboygan

From intersection of Chase Bridge Rd. and Pioneer Rd. at the section corner common to Sec 27, 28, 33, and 34, proceed 20 ft south on Chase Bridge Rd. to a trail road angling southwest. Proceed 0.2 mile southwest on the trail road to a small (less than 10 m) opening. The Camera Point is on the southeast side of the trail road, near the southeast edge of the opening. Camera Point is 3 ft NE of a jack pine. View: N45E.

Crawford

From the junction of old US 27 (Co. Rd. 130) and Browns Rd. at the section corner common to Sec 26, 27, 34 and 35, proceed 0.25 mile north to just over the brow of the hill. The Camera Point is on the east shoulder of old US 27. This is also 0.1 mile south of the junction of old US 27 and Hatton Rd. View: N70E

Clare

From Camera Point 18a, proceed 0.25 miles (1320 ft) north along the N-S fire lane to an old E-W railroad grade.The Camera Point is located on the fire lane, 100 ft south of a trail heading northwest. See directions for Camera Point 18a. The view is along the fire lane. View: due N  

Cheboygan

From the 5-way intersection of trail roads in the NW 1/4 of Sec 7 (Camera Point 09a), proceed 0.5 mile south southeast on Marl Creek Rd. to the junction of Marl Creek Rd. and a trail heading southwest. Proceed uphill 0.25 miles southwest on the trail to the junction of the southwest trail and a motorcross trail heading southeast. This junction is just below the top of a ridge. Proceed 260 ft southeast on the motorcross trail, then walk about 125 ft east along the ridge. The Camera Point is located just below the top of the ridge, on the north slope. A blazed tree marks the Camera Point. The Camera Point is 4 ft northwest of the blazed tree. Camera Point 10a and Camera Point 10b are two different views from the same Camera Point. View: N05E

Cheboygan

From the junction of Stephan Bridge Rd. and 4 Mile Rd., proceed approximately 500 ft north to a power line access trail. Proceed 0.1 mile east on the power line access trail, then walk 40 ft north to the Camera Point. View: N30E 

Crawford

From the western most junction of Co. Rd. 612 and Blue Lake Rd. at the corner common to Sec 33 and 34 of T28N and Sec 3 and 4 of T27N, proceed 1-mile east on Co. Rd. 612 to the unmarked scetion corner common to Sec 34, 35, 2, and 3. The proceed 330 ft west to the Camera Point on the south shoulder of Co. Rd. 612. The Camera Point is makred by a blazed maple tree. View: due W 

Kalkaska

This Camera Point is located on a poor road, about 660 ft west of the N-S fire lane on the section line common to Sec 29 and 30. From the intersection of Wilderness Rd. and the north-south fire lane (where Camera Point 17a and Camera Point 18a are found), proceed due south on the north-south fire lane for 1.0 miles, then proceed 660 ft west. See the directions for Camera Point 17a and Camera Point 18a. There are a number of poor logging roads and ORV trails near the Camera Point 21a, however, this Camera Point is best located by GPS. The Camera Point is on top of a 5 ft by 15 ft mound that is 2.5 ft tall. View N40W

Cheboygan

From the junction of M 33 and Tomahawk Lake Rd., proceed 1 mile northeast on Tomahawk Lake Rd. to a trail road th goes to the west unit of Tomahawk Creek Flooding campground. Proceed 0.35 mile southeast on the trail road to the intersection of the trail road and a trail heading east. In 2012, the east-west trail was no longer visible and completely covered with warm-season grasses. This trail is blocked by posts east of the trail road, and the Camera Point is located 20 ft west of the point where the east-west trail is blocked. View: due W

From the junction of Howard Rd. and Chandler Rd., proceed 2.4 miles north on Howard Rd. The Camera Point is 231 ft south of a creek and a private driveway (Bachandler Camp Rd.) heading east. The Camera Point is located on the west side of Howard Rd. View: due E

Charlevoix

See directions to Camera Point 01c in Roscommon County. From Camera Point 01c, proceed 0.5 mile west to the 1/4 corner common to Sec 13 and 24. The 1/4 corner is marked by a 4-inch iron pipe that extends 1 ft above ground level. There is a squared wood post set in the iron pipe. From the 1/4 corner marker, proceed 198 ft northwest to the Camera Point. The Camera Point is 9 ft northwest of an oak tree that is 36 ft from the center of the road. View: N30W 

Roscommon

From the section corner common to Sec 27, 28, 33 and 34, proceed 0.75 mile south to a trail road heading southwest. Proceed 0.7 mile on the southwesterly trail to a trail bearing north. Proceed 0.2 mile north on this trail to the Camera Point on the west side of the trail. The Camera Point is on top of a dirt mound 40 ft from the trail. Camera Point 28a and Camera Point 28b are two views from the same Camera Point. The two photos overlap to form a panoramic view. View: N40W

From the 5-way intersection of trail roads in the NW 1/4 of Sec 7 (Camera Point 09a), proceed 0.5 mile south southeast on Marl Creek Rd. to the junction of Marl Creek Rd. and a trail heading southwest. Proceed uphill 0.25 miles southwest on the trail to the junction of the southwest trail and a motorcross trail heading southeast. This junction is just below the top of a ridge. Proceed 260 ft southeast on the motorcross trail, then walk about 125 ft east along the ridge. The Camera Point is located just below the top of the ridge, on the north slope. The Camera Point is located just off the northeast side of Fox River Rd. on a mound 3 ft above the level of the road, and about 15 ft north of the abandoned trail. Previous directions indicate that this Camera Point is located 528 ft south and 528 ft west of the 1/4 corner common Sec 9 and 16. From the junction of Real Water Rd. and Marl Creek Rd., proceed 0.5 miles east on Marl Creek Rd. to a trail that heads southeast. Follow the southeasterly trail about 200 ft to the intersection of a north-south and east-west trail. Proceed 363 ft south on the north-south trail, then 66 ft east to the Camera Point. The Camera Point is marked by a metal tag nailed to a cherry sapling. Camera Point is 20 ft east of a blazed large red pine. View: N60W

Cheboygan

From Camera Point 13b, proceed 594 ft south along the old right-of-way to Camera Point. The Camera Point is also 198 ft south of the section corner common to Sec 20, 21, 28 and 29. See directions for Camera Point 13b. Camera Point 14a and Camera Point 14c are two different views from the same Camera Point. View from N45E.

Roscommon

From the junction of Marl Creek Rd. and West Sturgeon River Rd. in Sec 17, proceed 0.2 mile south on West Sturgeon Rover Rd. to a blazed large red pine on the west side of the road. Then walk 198 ft S60W from the center of the road up the hill to the CP, which is located about half way up the hill. A cedar post and a picket with a metal tag that were set to mark the CP were still there in 2012, but deteriorating. Trees to the east and est of the CP are blazed. The photo was taken 12 to 15 ft behind the cedar post and picket, so that they are in the photo. View: N40E 

Cheboygan

From the section corner common to Sec 27, 28, 33 and 34, proceed 0.75 mile south to a trail road heading southwest. Proceed 0.7 mile on the southwesterly trail to a trail bearing north. Proceed 0.2 mile north on this trail to the Camera Point, on the west side of the trail. The Camera Point is on top of a dirt mound 40 ft from the trail. Kalkaska

From Camera Point 03a, proceed 0.5 mile south on the trail road to a 5-ft bank on the west side of the trail road. The Camera Point is located on the bank, 15 ft from the trail road. View: N10W
